Youth Day in Singapore celebrates and recognises young people, their energy, potential, and contributions to society.
The Youth Day event ran on July 5 and 6. RouteVN participated on the first day, July 5.
The event took over the entire *SCAPE mall at 2 Orchard Link.
Dev & Draft 2 was part of the event. It was the second season of Dev & Draft, following the first season earlier this year.
It was organized by Bobadee Events, in collaboration with fireplace for Ideafest S2.
The fifth floor was split between tabletop games and digital games. The digital games were shown inside MAGES Institute, a Singapore school for game art, technology, and digital media.
Our booth was very similar to the booth at our previous event, though the table was a little smaller.
Several people passed by and tried Two Straws and DiaLune. It was so nice to hear the audience laughing out loud during gameplay and saying things like, "That is so cute."
Other game developers and general attendees also tested RouteVN. Several of them were interested in making Visual Novels and said they would try RouteVN. Others said they would tell their friends about it.
The funniest moment happened when a user sat down to play Two Straws. She was shocked when she saw her name appear in the name input. How did the VN know her name? It turns out her name is Dean, the same default name as the main character in Two Straws.
Another great part of the event was meeting other game developers.
We also attended an after-event meetup, where I had the chance to share more about my personal story and my goals for building RouteVN.
Some highlights:
Find out about more games showcased during the event on the Dev Draft itch.io page.
I'm grateful to the organizers for having RouteVN at the event.
The event created a meaningful opportunity for me to meet other game developers and interact with a general audience exploring Visual Novels.
